A & B
  Early chassis came from two Tools, to tell them apart from the outside easily:
Tool #1 - Hong Kong

  • TM chassis
  • Mattel Inc - No period after the "Inc"
  • Raised "Patent Pending" Pad is very close to the "Mattel Inc" lettering
  • Type B: Outside of tabs slightly beveled
Tool #2 - Hong Kong

  • TM chassis
  • Mattel Inc - A period after the "Inc."
  • Raised "Patent Pending" Pad has larger gap between the "Mattel Inc" lettering
  • Type B: Outside of tabs slightly beveled

  • Registered Big R chassis
  • Upper rear corner has a casting flaw, a bit of a bump
  • Gas Tank Leading Edge beveled out
  • No raised pad with "Patent Pending"
Tool #4 - Hong Kong

  • Registered Big R chassis
  • Upper rear corner has no casting flaw
  • Gas Tank leading edge is short without the expanded section
  • No raised pad with "Patent Pending"
